Tom Clancy's The Division Beta Opinion

So last weekend i played in the closed beta for Tom Clancy's The Division which may be one of the best games I have played so far this year due to the gameplay mechanics within the game and the graphics which I specifically played on PC were amazing. Everything looked os nice from the weather effects to the building and cars all the way down to the detail they put just for trash that was left around the area.

The beta started you off in a cutscene in a helicopter talking to this injured woman which i guess will be very close to the starting of the actual game because it mentions you being recruited to help out in trying to get a hospital setup and take the city back from the scavengers. This cutscene only last about 2 minutes and then you are dropped into the game with a quest marker to go and talk to someone in this base full of medical tents. As far as the campaign goes you only get to play two quests within the beta one is just a go and find something quest whereas the other is a kill and extract quest. So in terms of the campaign I don't have that strong of an opinion on due to how little of it was in the beta but it makes sense as they don't want to giveaway too much of the story only a month before the actual release of the game. There are however some side missions where you travel over to that area kill a bunch of scavengers and get medical equipment to go towards the base that you get dropped in.

Time to move onto the multiplayer or as it is called in the game Dark Zones(DZ). The Dark Zone is very interesting idea as you have both PvP(Player vs Player) and PvE (Player vs Environment) in which you can group up with players or go it alone solo killing the AI as part of the PvE aspect of the multiplayer. You can also group up or solo in PvP in which you can either play it two ways, you an play it as a rogue in which you kill any innocent players to steal the items they have earned in the DZ or to earn DZ cash or you can play the game as a bounty hunter type of person in which you can hunt down the rogue players to earn extra DZ cash and you if you kill them you can take the items they have stole from other players. In the DZ there are areas around that you can call an extraction in to disinfect the items yo have gotten in the DZ as the whole DZ area is mainly a toxic zone. When you call this in the player must wait about 1 minute 30 seconds for the helicopter to arrive and take your items in this time you can be killed for your items.

There is two separate currencies in the game one for the campaign side and one for DZ side however anything you buy with either currency you can use in the other so if you were to buy an item in the Dark Zone you can use it in the DZ area and in the campaign area which is a pretty cool idea so nobody can feel under-powered in either area. In the same as the currency there are two separate levels one for the campaign and the other for Dark Zone area.

So to wrap this up I have a total playtime on my one and only character of 23 hours and 46 minutes throughout the 5 days that the beta was available and this is probably my favorite so far in 2016 and I am looking forward to getting this game when it launches as I enjoyed so much of this game as you can probably tell from the amount of time I played. The game is a good 9/10 from my opinion on it.

Synoptic Project So far Personal & Group

So this post is just an update on the Synoptic Project so far as of right now we are onto week three of the synoptic project and so far the project that I am working is one of the ones I voted for when we were choosing which of the projects we were going to do. So for my job role in the project I am a 3d Modeler and so far I have been working on models that can be placed around the environment to fill up the environment so that it doesn't look empty when you are walking around the environment. So far I am enjoying the project and so far I am getting on pretty well with the task I have been given however it doesn't really have that much to it as I was just told to make some models to place in the environment so even though I know how the project needs to look and the theme of the project it is still quite hard to get the right type of models to go inside the environment. I have managed the work pretty efficiently so I am never left with nothing to do I have made sure that I ...

The 12 Principles of Animation

1: Squash and Stretch - this is how rigid or soft and object is. So an object will never just take one size so if you drop a ball from a height when it hits the floor it get squashed down and stretch out the sides of it. 2: Anticipation - An action that tells the viewer what will be happening next. So if someone is shooting a gun the anticipation of the person squeezing the trigger of the gun tells you that they are going to shoot it before the animation is even there. 3: Staging - Presenting your idea so it makes sense. This could be just how the area around the objects so in the film Monster House every house has either a picket fence or a wall however the monster house itself has no wall or fence which gives it a sort of feeling of dread and then house looking all dark. 4: Straight Ahead and Pose to Pose animating - Straight ahead animation is the process of animating each frame in order. Then you have pose to pose which is where you draw three key frames then go back to draw...

New Model/Concept Art [Loki's Helmet]

So this is my next planned model once I get both Doomhammer and Mjólnir finished and textured. So this piece being from the Marvel Cinematic Universe I need to get it to look very nice proportion wise. The helmet itself I think is going to be very tricky due to the amount of overlapping layers and as well as some unusual features. Those being the horns on the helmet which I think the only hard part for those is when they will curl back in towards the helmet. In this version of the helmet I will be adding a little something from the comics and that being a blue gem that in the comes he always had in his crown. I drew both a front facing and a side view for a all round basic look at the helmet in which it will help me make it easier to get the shape done correctly. I would be doing the back of the helmet however with it being very plain just from the side and the front view will suffice for what I need to get this helmet modeled correctly. After all of the modeling I will need to...
