Concept Art [Nightwing Sketch]

So today I felt like doing some sketching so I started with one of my favourite comic characters Nightwing. This whole sketch took me about 25 minutes to finish and I like the way it came out in the end.  The sketch itself was based off a picture I found on deviant art that I thought looked pretty cool and currently sits as my home PC wallpaper. As you can see the original picture is more of just the face and the top of the chest in the drawing. I decided I wanted to add onto that and make more of the body into the drawing. I really like the style of the drawing as well like the whole black and white idea but with the main colour that he has on his suit being the blue.  As like a conclusion to this I might try and do a digital version of my drawing but so far I like the way it came out and I might actually do some sort of background for the paper version but this was a lot of fun to draw.

3D Modelling - Lightsabre Hilt

So today we were tasked with three tasks one of these three was to model something whether it be for your game or something for you VFX or  just something from your head. So my idea was to model a lightsabre hilt from scratch with no insights or anything to base it on this was completely from my head into 3ds max. This could've been very bad as because I had an idea of what I wanted it to look like but whether it would turn out like that would be another question. So far I have just finished modelling the hilt and I like the way it has turned out, the shape is very simplistic but I believe once it is textured it will make it look even more better. So the next part of this process that I needed to do is UV unwrap it and at first it looked really bad but I managed to get the UV sorted and looking pretty nice.  It looks a bit weird but when I am texturing this it will be simple because I will have 3ds max open so I know which part needs to be a certain texture. More updat...

Solo Game Platformer

So my idea for a solo game is starting to come to life. Today has had me mainly set on getting the core sprites done for the game. The game is a 2D-Platformer in a wasteland city that has been took over by toxic gas all around. The player will have to collect items to advance to the next stage for each of the stages. After five stages you will fight a boss that boss will try and destroy the ground from underneath you. The sprites I have been trying to get done so far is the collectible in each of the levels which I may still change if I want to put the collectibles on a rotation for some of the levels so its not just the same item over and over again. The first idea I had for the collectible was a toxic cannister which looks like this: I am still indecisive on the final design for this and especially if I want multiple collectibles that you can get throughout the game. The next sprite that I will be working on will be the player sprite which is becoming a issue to me because I...

Tom Clancy's The Division Beta Opinion

So last weekend i played in the closed beta for Tom Clancy's The Division which may be one of the best games I have played so far this year due to the gameplay mechanics within the game and the graphics which I specifically played on PC were amazing. Everything looked os nice from the weather effects to the building and cars all the way down to the detail they put just for trash that was left around the area. The beta started you off in a cutscene in a helicopter talking to this injured woman which i guess will be very close to the starting of the actual game because it mentions you being recruited to help out in trying to get a hospital setup and take the city back from the scavengers. This cutscene only last about 2 minutes and then you are dropped into the game with a quest marker to go and talk to someone in this base full of medical tents. As far as the campaign goes you only get to play two quests within the beta one is just a go and find something quest whereas the other...

Rise of the Tomb Raider PC Release

So yesterday Rise of the Tomb Raider finally released on PC after so long of it only being on consoles. I played quite a bit of the game on the Xbox One however I am most looking forward to be able to get it for PC because I want to see what those graphics look like maxed out on PC. The game has some really cool mechanics especially with the bow being able to climb walls if you shoot an arrow into certain walls. As well as that there are some amazing scenery and game playing it. IGN rated this game a 9.3/10 Summary: Rise of the Tomb Raider follows up on Crystal Dynamics' redefining prequel/reboot to the Lara Croft saga. In Rise of the Tomb Raider, Lara becomes more than a survivor as she embarks on her first great Tomb Raiding expedition. Experience high-octane action moments, conquer beautifully hostile environments, engage in brutal guerrilla combat, and explore awe-inspiring deadly tombs in the evolution of survival action. In her first adventure, Lara Croft was f...
